2017-2018 Event Log

September 2017: Scouts traveled to Jaffrey, NH and climbed Mount Monadnock. It ended up being a long day trip because unfortunately there were no local campsites available to stay at.

October 2017: Scouts camped at Camp Resolute Friday night. We were joined by some Cub Scouts at the Battle of the Airfield and we welcomed our Webelos Scouts to join us at the camp site Saturday Night

November 2017: We had our annual Lone Tree trip. Lots of fun advancement for the newest scouts.

December 2017: We didn't do an overnight trip, but several of our scouts joined us at Skyzone for a fun day.

January 2018: The annual district Klondike event camping in the cold!  Our Troop took 2nd place in morning events, 1st place in knot relay race and 2nd place overall. Great job boys!

February 2018: Our annual Lock-In at the church. It's the only time we allow electronics at an overnight. Lots of games, midnight meal and some tired scouts in the morning.

March 2018: Back up to Hidden Valley for the weekend, and tubing Saturday afternoon at Gunstock

April 2018: A trip to Wah-Tut-Ca Scout Reservation. Scouts made rope hammocks, did some great cooking and off for a hike!

May 2018: A few scouts took a backpacking trip up to the White Mountains

June 2018: No camping, but we kept busy with other projects.

July 2018: A week at summer camp! Back to Hidden Valley Scout reservation. The boys got some merit badges, and loved Troop activities such as rifles, archery, sailing, rope course, etc.

2016-2017 Camping Recap

July 2016: Once again we made our way back to Hidden Valley for summer camp. Lots of merit badges and memories were made.

October 2016: SOAR - A camporee along the Charles River in Boston. Scouts were able to kayak along the river, play some fun games, made some great food, and endured some bad weather!

November 2016: Lone Tree - A favorite place for the boys. Some advancement, a trek around the camp and a little down time in the cabin.

December 2016: Battleship Cove - A few brave scouts made their way and toured the Battleships in New Bedford. Sleeping isn't always the easiest, but they made it through.

January 2017: Klondike Derby - No snow, but some chilly temps. The boys had lots of fun with the planned challenges/events.

February 2017: Church Lock-in - Another up-all-night event with some homemade pizza and lots of games.

March 2017: Hidden Valley & Tubing - A Troop 4 favorite. Cold temperatures didn't keep our scouts back from flying down the mountain.

April 2017: Boxford Scout Park - We joined up with Troop 49 this trip. Some good old advancement and service projects were the theme for this one.

May 2017:  Crawford Notch Backpacking - A small group made the trip, but I'm sure the views were well worth it!

2015-2016 Camping Recap

September 2015
Troop 4 traveled up to Maine and had the chance to canoe or kayak on the Saco River. A few people got wet, but a good time was had by all.

November 2015
We stayed at Camp Sayre with the Webelo II from Pack 4. It was a little chilly, but the boys showed the cub scout some scout skills including fire building, tent setup and ax yard.

December 2015
The troop tried somewhere new this month as we camped at Nobscot Scout Reservation. We stayed in a cabin, enjoyed a hike to the fire tower and did some great cooking!

January 2016
As usual, we participated in the district Klondike. It was rather warm and no snow!  The scouts participated in several challenges and our adult volunteers ran some of the events.

February 2016
The annual lock-in at the Second Congregational Church. It was another up-all-night party. The boys made a great homemade dinner and all ate together family style. Other than cooking, the boys played different games throughout the church all night.

March 2016
Troop 4 stayed at Wah Tut Ca scout camp and traveled up to Gunstock for a tubing trip. This is always a favorite trip for the boys. Even though it was a warm winter, the mountain had plenty of man-made snow to fly down on.

April 2016
We are lucky to have some Assistant Scoutmasters who have property in New Hampshire and let the Troop camp there. This month we camped along the river at Caron Cabin. This trip focused on a lot of advancement. The boys also climbed Mt. Major and took in some amazing views. The boys also made some amazing meals.

May 2016
We traveled to Manchester NH where we stayed at Camp Carpenter. It was family weekend, so the boys were able to partake in lots of activities including BB guns, archery, run around the Fort and mini-golf. We also visited the Scout Museum which was great for the boys to see.

June 2016
For our final trip of the 2015-2016 year, we went to Pawtuckaway State Park. We enjoyed the beach, a hike to the fire tower, but didn't enjoy the bugs! Cooking on the trail was fun.

This year was SUPER FANTASTIC! We are excited to plan for next year so stay tuned for more updates!
